The MOC owns & maintains The Optimist Cabin & grounds at 22464 N Main in Morton Illinois. We make them available for members, our organization's youth program Scouting America Troop 178, & other local community youth groups use.
A MOC member sponsor is now required to reserve and provide access to our facilities for non-member requested use.
One of our main fundraising activities is making our cabin available by donation for private use for parties, meetings, family reunions, etc.
A note to our previous cabin private use patrons: The furniture updates have reduced our private use seating capacity to 55, but greatly improved comfort & atmosphere! We allow limited kitchen use & have 4 picnic tables for patio use, & a large outdoor BBQ grill. Our facility is fully heated & air conditioned available year-round.
Proceeds received for private use of the cabin are a donation to the not-for-profit Morton Opportunity Club (MOC), a 501(3)c public charity, and will be used to carry out it's mission of providing programs and services for the youth of Morton, Illinois area. Our primary areas of local youth financial support are local scout units, youth baseball, softball, soccer, & childhood cancer campaigns.
Our Major Annual Fundraising Event is a Community Charity Golf Outing normally held the 3rd Saturday in May at Pine Lakes G C. It's the best value Golf Outing in Central Illinois! Please help support our charitable mission.. Contact any MOC Member for more info!
